About Krystal LaForme Jewellery
Krystal LaForme Jewellery is an Indigenous-owned, home-based jewellery business operated by Krystal LaForme from the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation in Ontario, Canada.
These Terms and Conditions govern the use of this website and purchases made from Krystal LaForme Jewellery.
By using this website or submitting an order, you agree to these Terms and Conditions and any policies referenced in them.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits a consumer right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded.
Because the studio is located at a private residence, it is not open for unscheduled visits. Pickup, return, or appointment information will be provided directly when required.
Terms of Sale & Use
Each Krystal LaForme Jewellery piece is made or finished by hand. Subtle variations in texture, shape, dimensions, surface, pattern, and finish are characteristics of handmade work and do not necessarily constitute defects.
Stone, shell, quahog shell/wampum, and other natural materials may vary in colour, pattern, thickness, texture, inclusions, and shape. These natural characteristics make each piece unique.
Product photographs are prepared to represent each item as accurately as reasonably possible. Colours and proportions may appear differently depending on lighting, photography, screen settings, magnification, and the device used to view the website.
Customers are responsible for reviewing product descriptions, measurements, materials, prices, processing times, and applicable policies before purchasing.
Customers must provide complete and accurate billing, sizing, shipping, and contact information.
Krystal LaForme Jewellery is not responsible for delays, failed delivery, or resizing costs resulting from inaccurate information supplied by the customer, except where responsibility cannot legally be excluded.
All prices are displayed in Canadian dollars unless otherwise stated. Shipping charges and applicable taxes may be added at checkout.
Submitting an order is an offer to purchase. An automated confirmation acknowledges receipt of the order but does not necessarily constitute final acceptance.
Krystal LaForme Jewellery may decline or cancel an order for a reasonable business or legal reason, including:
-
Product unavailability;
-
An incorrect price or description;
-
Payment failure;
-
Suspected fraud or unauthorized activity;
-
Incomplete or inaccurate customer information;
-
Shipping limitations;
-
Inability to safely complete a requested customization;
-
Abusive or threatening conduct; or
-
A legal, regulatory, or tax-compliance concern.
If an order is cancelled by Krystal LaForme Jewellery after payment has been collected, the applicable payment will be refunded, except for any amount properly retained under an accepted custom-order agreement or as otherwise permitted by law.
Jewellery must be worn, stored, and cleaned according to the Jewellery Care Guide.
Custom and Made-to-Order Work
Custom commissions require consultation and written agreement on the general project scope before work begins. Made-to-order pieces are existing Krystal LaForme Jewellery designs that are created after an order is placed.
Depending on the project, the customer may be asked to approve the design direction, materials, stone or shell selection, measurements, sizing, finish, and price. Customers are responsible for reviewing the information provided and for supplying accurate sizing, measurements, and other requested details where applicable.
A deposit or full payment may be required before design work, material ordering, stone or shell cutting, or fabrication begins. The specific deposit, payment schedule, included revisions, cancellation terms, and any other project-specific conditions will be provided to the customer in writing before work begins. These terms form part of the agreement between the customer and Krystal LaForme Jewellery.
Once materials have been ordered or cut, or fabrication has begun:
-
Cancellation may no longer be available;
-
A deposit may become non-refundable;
-
Significant design or structural changes may not be possible; and
-
Additional charges may apply to approved changes or revisions.
Custom and made-to-order work is completed according to the individual requirements of each piece. Because jewellery fabrication and lapidary work can involve unpredictable natural materials and technical processes, Krystal LaForme Jewellery may not always be able to provide an exact completion date.
Where reasonably possible, a general production estimate may be provided in good faith. Any estimated timeline is not guaranteed and may change because of:
-
The condition or behaviour of stone, shell, or other natural materials;
-
Patterns, fractures, inclusions, or structural characteristics revealed during cutting;
-
Design or construction adjustments required for strength, safety, or durability;
-
Technical challenges discovered during fabrication;
-
Material or component availability;
-
Equipment issues;
-
Customer-requested changes;
-
Delayed customer approvals or payments; or
-
Circumstances outside reasonable control.
Where no reliable production estimate can be provided, this will be disclosed before the customer agrees to proceed. The customer will be informed if a significant delay or unexpected issue arises.
Customers must disclose any event date or deadline before agreeing to the project. Krystal LaForme Jewellery does not guarantee completion by a particular date unless that deadline has been expressly accepted in writing.
Custom, personalized, specially sized, altered, and made-to-order pieces are generally final sale. This does not limit any remedy available where an item arrives damaged, contains a covered workmanship defect, materially differs from the approved order, or where another remedy is required by applicable law.

-
Original jewellery designs to the extent protected by applicable intellectual-property law.

Purchasing a piece of jewellery transfers ownership of the physical item. It does not transfer copyright, design rights, trademark rights, or the right to commercially reproduce the piece or related website content.
General jewellery-making knowledge, materials, concepts, methods, and traditional metalsmithing or lapidary techniques are not claimed as the exclusive property of Krystal LaForme Jewellery merely because they are used in the creation of a piece.
Nothing in this section is intended to claim ownership over collective Indigenous cultural knowledge, histories, or traditions that are not personally owned by Krystal LaForme Jewellery.
Unauthorized reproduction of protected photographs, text, artwork, graphics, or original designs is prohibited.
Limited Workmanship Warranty
Krystal LaForme Jewellery provides a one-year limited workmanship warranty beginning on the original purchase date.
The warranty applies only to an eligible defect in materials supplied or workmanship performed by Krystal LaForme Jewellery.
A concern that may qualify for assessment includes:
-
A solder joint that fails because of a workmanship issue;
-
A defective clasp supplied with the original piece;
-
A component that separates because of a fabrication defect; or
-
A stone that becomes loose because it was not properly set.
Submitting a claim does not guarantee coverage. Photographs, proof of purchase, and an in-person assessment may be required.
If a covered workmanship defect is confirmed, the available remedy may include correction of the original workmanship issue, replacement of a defective component, replacement of the piece where reasonably possible, store credit, or a refund where required by law or otherwise appropriate.
Because many pieces are one-of-a-kind, an identical replacement may not be available.
Krystal LaForme Jewellery does not offer general repair, restoration, maintenance, cleaning, refinishing, or alteration services.
Warranty Exclusions
The limited workmanship warranty does not cover:
-
Normal wear;
-
Tarnish or changes in patina;
-
Scratches, dents, or surface marks;
-
Accidental impact;
-
Crushing, bending, pulling, or snagging;
-
Broken or stretched chains caused by wear or force;
-
Loss or theft;
-
Lost stones or components caused by impact or damage;
-
Improper storage or cleaning;
-
Chemical, chlorine, cosmetic, or moisture exposure;
-
Incorrect sizing selected or supplied by the customer;
-
Failure to follow the Jewellery Care Guide;
-
Natural variation in stone or shell;
-
Damage caused by another jeweller or service provider;
-
Unauthorized resizing, alteration, polishing, or refinishing; or
-
Damage arising from the inherent condition of customer-supplied material.
Sterling silver is a comparatively malleable precious metal. It may develop fine scratches, surface marks, tarnish, and changes in finish through normal use. These changes are not workmanship defects.
Shell, including quahog shell/wampum, is a natural material that can chip, crack, or break if dropped, struck, bent, or subjected to pressure. Shell jewellery must be handled and stored with particular care.
Nothing in this warranty excludes responsibility or a consumer remedy that cannot legally be excluded.
